    As a mixed media artist- I think I am pretty picky about my brushes and I have to say, these brushes are wonderful! They have a good weight to them– they don’t feel lightweight and cheap like some brushes I’ve used. The bristles are very dense and while they have a firmness to them, they aren’t too stiff or rough. They create such luscious texture and I’ve, thus far, had no shedding. The handles are actual wood and even have a strap at the bottom. At first I thought it was a wrist strap- but unless you have miniature wrists (lol) I’m pretty sure they are to hang your brushes up. The shipping was super fast too! I’m really excited to continue painting with these brushes.

    The big brush works really well. If both of the brushes were the same quality I would have given it 5 stars.The little brush smelled really really bad! I tried washing it but the water made it worse. It was so bad that wife could smell it from another floor in our house. I threw it away, but my house continued to smell so bad that I needed to empty the trash just to get it out of my house….Might have been a bad batch. But… Ugh… So gross!

These brushes actually did the job quicker, with less mess, and produced the best final result.     I used these brushes for my dining table that I was painting. They were great to apply the chalk paint to the table. I’ve not had any problems as far as loose bristles in the paint. I cleaned any loose ones prior to use and got a couple that came out while cleaning. They did take a little extra work cleaning. I used warm water and soap as instructed and this is a water based paint. It has taken several times to get the paint out. I’ve since ordered mineral spirits so hopefully the bristles will turn loose the paint easier for future projects. Overall great job with my table makeover.

    I bought these mainly to use for waxing chalk painted furniture. I haven’t used the small one yet, but the large one sheds bristles really bad. Based on that, there’s no way that I would recommend them to be used for painting! I have tried cleaning them thoroughly, and re-using for waxing, and I still had severe shedding of bristles. I found other brushes that work much better. Cost more, so I guess you get what you pay for!

The brushes are light weight and the handles are easy to manage. The bristles on the big brush is longer than the little brush. I did not experience any of the bristles falling out during use.     While I’m sure there are higher quality brushes out there, these are a very solid choice for wax brushes. Personally, I prefer a quality synthetic brush for applying paints and if you’re looking for a quality chalk paint brush at a good price, search for country chic. Their oval brushes are fantastic. But for waxes or wood salves, these have worked perfectly.DO THE PREP! I’ve read the complaints about bristle shedding, but if you follow the instructions on how to break the brush in, you’ll be fine.

    I purchased these brushes to paint our fireplace. They did a good job. The small brush was a perfect size for the small areas between the bricks and the large one was perfect for the face. The bigger brush painted a larger area quicker but felt heavy after a while but I attribute it to me not ever painting LOL. I stuck to the smaller one and gave my husband the bigger one 🙂

    I started using a different chalk brush I had bought off from internet on my table top, literally after 3 coats I could not get rid of the dark patches showing up on my finish and I could not figure out why they were there. I wasn’t sure if it was the paint or the brush. I decided on my last coat I was going to use a different brush – THIS ONE – and to my amazement the paint was going on smooth and streak freak. I have no idea what was going on with the other brush, but I will never use it again for painting, maybe I’ll save it for waxing (maybe), but never will I use it for paint again. I will buy at least 2 more of these large oval brushes, I loved it that much! Glides smoothes and covers wonderfully!

    I needed to make photography backdrops for my product styling and this set of brushes where just the thing I needed. All I needed was a bottle of milk paint and I was able to generously cover a large surface of plywood in minutes. The smaller brush was great for touching up details. The brushes are easy on the hand and the oval shape of the brush didn’t leave behind obvious brushstrokes. The brush thickness is generous and absorbed a good amount of paint to cover the wood surface evenly. I recommend this set for sure.

    I have never chalk painted before. I had purchased an old farm window that I was going to paint in chalk paint for my wedding and use as a seating chart display. After doing some research I determined I needed a special brush for painting and waxing and this set had the most consistent reviews so I purchased. These brushes worked great! The coverage of the paint and wax were even. I didn’t prep either brush as they sometimes say to do to avoid loose bristles. The paintbrush lost 0 bristles and I painted 2 coats, front and back, of the window. The little wax brush did lose a couple bristles here and there, but the paint was already dry when I was applying the wax and they were easily picked away. This was definitely not enough to reduce my rating by a star. If I decided to get into more chalk painting, I would definitely buy this set again. Very happy with my first purchase and my window turned out wonderfully.

    I bought the brushes for chalk paint and wax and was extremely happy with them. I have washed and used them multiple times and they are still in great condition. I experienced very little shedding of bristles and the brushes are the perfect size for holding.

    So, I have built a few pieces of furniture out of raw wood and when you’re painting or doing a hard stain, you want to make sure that you’re using a brush with natural bristles that will apply well and more importantly flow with the contour of the grains. This is a great brush for painting or waxing furniture. We’ve also found it very comfortable to use. I would highly suggest it if you are looking to freshen up your furniture.

    I didn’t realize there would be such a difference between using a regular flat brush versus these round brushes for chalk painting. This brush resembles an oversize shaving brush and recommended for painting with Jolie Finishing Wax.The brush was easy to clean with a mineral spirits product that I will review on this site later tonight.I recommend this product to family, friends, and other who plan to paint a protective coat of Jolie Finishing Wax or a similar product on indoor furniture, cabinets, walls, and other items.Enjoy!

    This is my first experience with any brushes like these so I may not be the best to review them. I’m also using them to apply polycrylic to my first piece of painted furniture and have never worked with that product before. Having said that, I did read alor of reviews on lots of brushes before choosing these and one big complaint abt others was loose bristles being left behind while painting, etc. I’m on my 3rd coat on the furniture and have only had to get bristles out of the poly about 4 times which doesn’t seem bad to me. Aa far as cleaning, Ive always hated cleaning paint brushes but ive done just what they suggest and simply soaked it in paint thinner for a few minutes, then washed with warm soapy water and hung to dry. They have been ready to use the next day with no problem.

    To start with, the brushes are listed as chalk paint and wax brushes but when they arrived it said wax brushes on the label. First thing I did was take the ties out of the handles because they were constantly in the way. I decided to try and use the larger one for chalk paint but the bristles began breaking off into my painted surface and getting stuck in the paint. I ended up buying a better quality paint brush at the local hardware store. Note to self : you get what you pay for. Price was great but quality, not so much.

    Decent set of brushes which I used to apply clear wax sealer over a chalk paint furniture project. Did not use the small brush yet. The brush shed a little bit but not so much that it was a deal breaker. My method is: I apply wax with the brush and rub wax in with a soft cloth immediately. Wait a couple hours (it’s hot and dry in Nevada so dry time is seriously fast) then buff wax again for a satin like finish.

    Chalk painting can be simple or difficult. These brushes are perfect. Well made, I’ve had others that bristles fell out and ruined my project. These stay together through the entire project. A bonus with these brushes are the instructions for care and use. Helped greatly! I’d order these again but won’t need them because these are still viable.

    Used it to wax a white chalk painted dresser and I spent a lot of time picking out dark hairs. Got my Dixid Bell wax full of bristles as well.

    This is one decent brush with a second, smaler useless brush. The second is very stiff and the larger brush has a sharp metal edge around the handle right about where your hand goes when you are painting. They aren’t worth the price.

    The big brush is fine and doesn’t lose it bristles. The small brush, on the contrary is awful! Bristles continually come out of the brush onto your furniture. It is a royal pain. I would not recommend using this brush unless you do not have a smaller brush available. This continually loses it’s bristles, making you stop painting to get them off your piece, then causing you to touch up each spot, and some ultimately get missed and further end up on your piece unless you want to pick it, sand out and repaint. Bummer. I bought these instead of better brushes like the Annie Sloan brushes to save money. Gave it two stars because the bigger brush was just ok and didn’t lose bristles; you get what you pay for. I didn’t want to have to stop painting and go buy new brushes, but I should have! I would not buy these again.

    I like the feel of this brush. The small one is the most comfortable to hold. I use these types of brushes for chalk/clay paint and wax. It holds a lot of paint and wax. Because the large brush is so fat around, it would be nice for it to be 1/2″ longer for more movement of the bristles. Overall, these are great brushes!

    These brushes were used to apply Dixie Belle wax on a recently chalk painted stool. I especially like the smaller brush as it was easier to hold for a long period of time. I liked the feel of the round handle. They both applied the wax well and were easily cleaned after use. I will definitely consider reordering these brushes when necessary.

    When I used this brush to wax my hutch, it kept shedding little tiny black hairs it fibers. So I can’t even use it.So disappointed. Don’t bother, spend the extra and get the Annie Sloan brushes.

    These brushes are exactly like the description! Actually, they were a bit bigger than I thought they would be. I love them! I cannot think of anything bad at all.     I had never chalk painted before and wasn’t sure what a good brush should look, feel aOr how it should perform. I painted two pieces with very little brittle shedding and the small brush was a godsend. Bought another brush locally and it was horrible when compared to this set. If I hadn’t purchased another brand I wouldn’t have known Joe hood these bridges are. In total I did a Fuller cabinet, a large entertainment console and a curio cabinet effortlessly.

    I used the brush to apply wax over chalk paint and it performed better than I expected (after reading the reviews). It is easy to clean and was able to retain its shape. There were a few brush that fell off but not a lot at all. I highly recommend the product especially for the price.

    These are great brushes. I’ve used both for chalk painting cabinets and furniture. They hold plenty of paint that makes it easier to get larger areas done faster. Haven’t had problems with brushes shedding . Used smaller brush for wax also . Distributed wax perfectly.
